I am currently a sessional instructor at the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Dentistry. I have been practicing dentistry for the past 19 years. During this time, I have always enjoyed having practicum students in my office. In the past two years, I have changed my focus from private practice to teaching. In my first year, I was awarded a Sessional Faculty Teaching Award by my students. This is my third year of teaching and my second consecutive year. I have been developing my teaching skills through the Center of Teaching and learning Excellence at U.B.C. I am hoping to further develop myself and my skills by completing the Provincial Instructor Diploma in Adult Education at VCC. Learning and educational concepts have changed a lot since I was a full-time student. I am enjoying my new learning experiences. I hope to be able to more effectively facilitate the learning of my future colleagues.
My learning partner is Daryl. His blog for this course can be found at http://dieselcetaneinfo.wordpress.com.
